On Tuesday I talked to my good friend Bobbie Jo and asked her to run the
with me! YAY! I signed up back in the beginning of October. I love virtual runs because I can do it by myself or with my friends and not in a huge group of people that I don’t know!
Jess is an awesome Virtual Run host. A couple of weeks ago she sent us an email that included our race bib and some awesome information about the run!
Here were the instructions… that obviously I had a hard time following:
PRE-RACE
Bake cupcakes. I made Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies.Print off race bib below. My printer isn’t set up so put it in paint
Write your name in the open area below
Attach to your shirt with safety pins (or duck tape, whatever…)
RACE!
Run a 5k (3.1 miles). We ran hills… they were awful!
Have FUN, but don’t forget to clock your time. 30:36ish
Take a photo of you and your friends on your Cupcake run. It was too dark but I did take a picture with my computer.
It was really hard to hold this position and take a picture…let me tell you!
CELEBRATE… EAT A CUPCAKE Cookie WHEN YOU’RE DONE RUNNING! You don’t need to tell me twice!
So as you can see I tried to do everything right… the good thing was I did it! (: and it was fun! (:
Now the reason we did hills for this race was to get ready for our UPCOMING RACE! You heard me right I signed up for another 5K!
I’m pretty excited about this one. You run over a bridge and back and at the end there is a huge hill! {awesome right!} That is why we practiced hills!
I already know my bib number… 94!
I won’t be doing any training for this run or anything like that. I’m going to continue to do CrossFit 5 days a week and run 2 days a week. {give or take of course} I probably won’t even run this distance again until the race because honestly I love running 2 miles and calling it quits! (: I definitely believe CrossFit though has helped with my timing! It has made me faster for sure!
Check out the other virtual races I participated in:
Virtual Olympic Games
Virtual 5K Run
Questions: Are you running any more races this fall? Did you ever do one that ended on a hill? Do you like virtual races?

I love virtual races- so fun:)
they are definitely a blast! great job on your run!
Great run. Since I live in SC right on the water most of our 10K races here are over bridges and back. I try to train for it, but just hate running hills so I usually never do until race day, whoops!
haha. running over bridges sounds like so much fun! (: I ran the bridge from ohio to kentucky once… not for a race though
congrats on your run! Cute post, SPA love
Rules were made to be broken right?
