Right now I am running a 5 mile race. What better way to celebrate by a posting of my last run! (:

I know I know I should’ve posted this forever ago but I was waiting on some pictures and since I waited too long I lost some good ones that I found online which I’m pretty bummed about because they were the best pictures! Oh well though I still have some pretty good ones.

In June, Eric and I ran a Mud Run just outside of Philly for MS. It was a lot of fun. We got muddy, we did it together, and then we ate a lot of food! Perfect day for me.

Lets start from the beginning. We left for the hour and a half drive pretty early. We took two vans up. One was a group from Lancaster, the other a group from Ephrata. When we got up there we got in line to get our packets.

We strapped on our shoe things that kept track of when we started and finished.

Even number for me of course! (:
We had abut an hour or so when we got there so we took some pictures and picked up our shirts that we got for doing the race.

I had half of a bagel with Justins Peanut Butter before the race. Which I really think gave me enough fuel for the day. I wasn’t hungry at all throughout the run.

I didn’t really want to get muddy. haha. It was kind of funny but I had no chance to back out now. The first like mile was just running. Eric kept up with me pretty well so at that point in time I figured we would do it together. It felt like forever until we got to the first obstacle but it was fun once we finally did. We got muddy right away. Eric said he gained 50 pounds after this one where we had to army crawl in mud. After that we walked a lot. I tried to run backwards to give Eric some motivation to get moving but his leg was hurting him and what not. All I cared about was finishing together. That is what we did. {These are the pictures we are missing, they were so cute.} The last thing you had to do was climb this huge hill and then slide down a tarp into a big pool of mud that was really deep you had to swim to get out… or well I had to anyways. Then you had a little bit of a run, not far at all, to the finish line. That is when I stopped and went to hold Eric’s hand to finish. He instead though grabbed my hand, pulled me back, and ran. HAHA. What a meany. The pictures were priceless that they used to have on the site of me just cracking up laughing. I guess he wanted to beat me even though I stayed back with him the whole time. Oh well.

Here is a picture of us when it was over!
To put the before and after pictures in perspective we took some pictures and I put them next to each other.

Cute! This was a lot of fun. We had a blast. Here are our final times:

Somehow someone finished between us. Haha. Don’t know how that happened.
Afterwards we ate food, drank some beers, relaxed, and then drove home.12 - 7
It was such a fun race. I really enjoyed it. Eric says that maybe we can do it again next year but he would rather do a 5K Mud Run instead of a 10K.

I hope you enjoyed my post. I’m sure I am wishing my 5 mile run was finished right about now! (:
