New Year WOD!

Yesterday I changed my morning routine up! I woke up an hour earlier than usual, I had coffee and I put on workout clothing. Do you see where I’m getting at with this?!

{don’t mind the hair!}
Yes! I changed up my morning because I am heading back to CrossFit today and hitting up the 6AM class. I wanted to get used to my change in schedule and I knew it wasn’t a day of turn… I had to prepare! So yesterday I created my own WOD to do at 6AM.
New Year Wod
It is a beginner WOD but definitely was a great start for me! It was tough too! This was the first hardcore workout other than running that I have done since my broken sternum! I knew pushups had to be in there! I didn’t want to do my first pushup at my CrossFit box. I needed to make sure I could do it at home so my nerves weren’t crazy when I saw it on the board and had to do it!

I wore my Polar FT40 Heart Rate Monitor watch while I did the WOD! I wanted to see just how this one affected me because I know the WODs at the box are going to send my fitness numbers through the roof!

The WOD took me about 14 minutes to do! I have a hard time remembering which button is the stop button haha! As you can see a little over a minute was fat burn and the rest of the time was all fitness. No surprise there since I already tested running with it and playing a wii game to see when you hit fat burn and fitness.
My heart rate pretty much stayed in the 150 area or that is what it said every time I looked down. I think the maximum time probably came during the pushups they were really hard for me to do. I’m glad I just stuck with doing 5 of them instead of 10!
I burned 113 calories just by doing 14 minutes of working out! I’ll take it! 21% of those calories were fat calories! Just shows how awesome CrossFit is! Seriously if you haven’t joined a box yet or checked out WOD’s to do at home you need to! (:

Questions: Do you usually make up your own workouts to do at home or at the gym? Have you completed a CrossFit WOD? Will you do the WOD that I created?

Props to you for waking up early and doing your own WOD! That’s great. :) Yes, I usually make my own workouts (I workout at home).

Yayy Crossfit!
I feel you about wanting to do the workouts at home before you get to the box; it’s crazy how your body ends up doing things that you never thought it could do!

113 cals is great! I need to start waking up early. Vacation is OVER! ;) and I have a ton of workouts that I save to my inbox so just pull them up as needed. Off to the gym this morning though to run- it’s 21 degrees out. :( Have a great day!

Love this… did one so similar to this after my run this morning- I love WOD that require little space and no equipment!
