When I got engaged and the money saving kicked in there was one thing I gave up: Getting my nails done. It is def one of the things I miss the most that I gave up. haha. Like anyone that gets them done you know it is a nice getaway, it’s relaxing and it makes you feel girly.
The other day I went to the grocery store and I’ve seen this for awhile now but I also saw the price and just have been glancing over it but I also have been painting my nails now for awhile and I feel like every 2 days it comes off and honestly I just don’t have the time to keep painting and keep painting. I want it to stay on and be nice. Well we know that Gel paint stays on!

So I got some. I wasn’t expecting this to be some huge project but it kind of is. haha. You first have to put the one in the middle on your nails then immediately put the color on. Then after your done with one coat on one hand you switch the brushes from the color one to the clear one. This helps with buildup and cleans it. Then you repeat. Then move to your next hand and repeat.

It turned out pretty nice. I would probably put one more coat on next time. I also painted my ring fingers with regular nail polish on top to add some glitter. So far it has held up pretty good even through CrossFit today.

Now its recipe time:
Yesterday I didn’t know what to make for lunch and well it finally hit me: Pumpkin Pancakes. I’ve been wanting to try them for awhile now seeing them on all types of blogs. I was going to make them on Sunday but Eric said he wasn’t hungry for breakfast so I quick just put something together but yesterday I decided if I made it into just one serving I could have it. YAY!

You should see my nails… it’s a joke. I’m so rough on t hem in the kitchen and in the gym (read: total klutz), there’s not point in bothering with polish.

Tasty-looking pancakes! I did make a protein pumpkin version… which reminds me, I need to do that again…

I used to get Shellac manicures every two weeks, but stopped when I realized I was spending $70+ a month! I’ll have to try that polish!

Someone else just mentioned this nail polish to me so I think I’m going to have to try it! Your pumpkin pancakes have just given me some inspiration for a recipe later this week. Yum!

Oh, I haven’t tried out that kind of polish yet. Now I need to! Love your nails, they look really pretty. I especially LOVE the glitter! A girl always needs sparkle in her life.

Love the pumpkin pancakes recipe. I’ve only made the Trader Joe’s box kind, but I’ll try these out. Thanks!

Yum! Those sound so good. The gel manicure kit sounds like a winner! My nail polish comes off way too fast, I agree.

I hate when that happens. Seriously this gel stuff hasn’t come off yet.. 3 crossfit workouts later! its awesome. and it cost a lot less than getting them done at the nail salon.
