in Workouts

sweatySundayIt is Sunday which means it is another lovely edition of Sweaty Sunday!

Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: 7 AM CrossFit
Skill: EMOM for 7 minutes perform 2 heavy snatch grip deadlifts.
9-18-12
This WOD was awful. haha. My legs were so tired from the squats that jumping over the bar for the burpees was hard. I can only imagine how stupid I look jumping at the end. My legs are so tired it takes all my might to jump over it so my one leg is going and my other is like way behind haha.

Wednesday: 9 AM CrossFit
Skill: Strict Pull-ups with bands.
9-19-12
Ring Pushups… AWFUL! They were really hard. The lower to the ground the harder they were and well I was practically standing at the end of the WOD lol and it still was hard just to do a couple. I was happy when this one was over. My arms hurt for like 4 days after this one!

Thursday: 9 AM CrossFit, 10AM Yoga9-20-12
I really enjoyed this one. I was surprised but I actually did the advanced version of this instead of the beginner. The Burpee Pullup jumps were tough but I liked the challenge. I think I am also starting to somewhat like Box Jumps… just not when you have to do a million haha. I feel accomplished when I get on top of the box. I really wanted to get under 10 on this one but ended up coming three seconds over.. oh well.
After the WOD we had a Yoga session. Such a good idea and especially because it is on Thursdays because every Friday I take off because of my work schedule. Some of the stretches hurt but a good hurt. I definitely needed to stretch out my muscles and just relax!

Friday: Rest Day

Saturday: 10 AM Partner WOD
9-22-12
This was my first partner WOD. It was a lot of fun. I partnered up with a girl named Anna. We kicked butt! So what makes a partner WOD different than a regular WOD is you do it together. So between the both of us we had to do 40 push presses, etc. The knees to elbows, bear crawl, and plate run at the end were the toughest for sure. I enjoyed working with a partner though. She was awesome and probably did a majority of the reps haha. The idea is to partner up with someone that is better at the things you aren’t. That way they take more reps of them and you get the exercises you are better at. I was really happy with our time! It went by so fast. One day we will be at the RX {as prescribed} weights though. I think for women the push press was 95lb, Medicine Ball 14 and Deadlifts were 105. I have awhile to go but I’m up for the challenge.

Sunday: I started today running a mile to the closest track.

I was really happy with my time. I have been running 9:30 minute miles since I started CrossFit.
My mom met me at the track to time some sprints. Fridays WOD at CrossFit was 4 200m sprints so I figured I would do it today since it was a workout I could do outside of the gym. I did it a little different though I guess they ran 200m every three minutes. I just ran 200m then walked 200m until I was back at the starting line and then ran again.

It was nice to see all of my times being pretty much the same. I was flying on my first sprint. So all this added up to another mile. Then I walked/jogged home which was another mile. My legs were so tired on my job home they were like stop running or else!
It was a great workout week. I wish I would’ve got another just strictly running day in there but my work schedule switching up just made me tired. {getting home Monday morning at 1 am from work Sunday night then have to be back in Monday morning at 9:30am…. means I’m beat and there’s no waking up earlier than I have to!}

Questions: What was your favorite workout this week? Do you like doing sprints?
