Wedding Friday is back this week! Thank goodness right?! To be honest I just didn’t know what to write about the past couple of weeks but on Sunday I went to a bridal show and I just want to share with you the good and the bad!
I didn’t take that many pictures and that is probably because I didn’t have that much time to do anything else.
Right when Steph and I walked into the place I was signing up for an appointment to try on wedding dresses! This was a good and a bad thing. It was kind of pushy but I felt with my wedding dress I need someone to tell me to get going and make appointments. {aka I hate calling people!}
After that we walked around a lot and I signed up for a bunch of contests to win stuff. Good thing Steph was with me because she knew the questions to ask! They were like when is your wedding and I looked at her. haha. {story of my life} I feel like I got a lot of good ideas though and now I know about new places that I didn’t know before! Perfect!
Some other people were definitely REALLY pushy when I didn’t want them to be. That was definitely a big con!
I also noticed that there were a lot of photographers there. One with a really great deal that I need to get in contact with.
After we walked around for a half an hour they had a wedding dress runway show and then announced some big winners. {I didn’t win}
I did win one thing though! $250 off of a caterer! I can’t believe I won! I got the phone call the next day and I can’t wait to get in contact with the company. Unfortunately, they are like only open when I’m at work so I don’t really have time to call but I’ll try and find some time today! (:
I am going to another Bridal Show this upcoming weekend and I can’t wait to see if they are different, if I like this one more, etc.

You hate calling people? Really? haha! Who was the photographer you liked? So glad Steph is helping you with the wedding.
Are you finding a style of dress you like or are you just going and try different styles? Now that 2013 is here it doesn’t seem quite so long but there is still plenty of time to move it ahead if you wish Love you.
I went to one bridal show that was hosted by our venue when I was wedding planning. It was kind of silly for me to go since we already had most of our stuff decided on, but it felt like an essential part of the whole wedding planning experience!

I loved going to the bridal shows. It was always a day out with my mom with nothing but wedding planning fun

I have been to a wedding convention but it was super… “ghetto”… LOL!! It was in New Mexico. Needless to say my sister took none of the advice she was given at the convention and wound up with a VERY beautiful wedding! ha ha.
Sometimes bridal shows will list the vendors ahead of time, research them, find what ones you like and talk to them. Be cautious of newbies but don’t exclude them. Our photographer had only done a few weddings and mostly portraits but we loved his portfolio and he was a fraction of the cost of 90% of the other photographers, and offered us a package with all our photos printed out, and all rights were ours (not a lot of photographers do that) and a photo book included. We met a bunch of times and I loved him. He was amazing, this summer when my SIL got married his price had doubled and went by referral only (no longer does shows) and includes photos on a disk only a certain number of prints and the book is extra! But he was amazing so she booked him. I am still grateful that we found him as an unknown. But there are some terrible unknowns, anyway, long story short, follow your gut!
