It is Wedding Fridayyy! I have a lot of exciting things to share!
First lets talk about this past Saturday. Eric and I went to our cupcake tasting. We absolutely loved Lancaster Cupcake and decided to go with them! (: We are going to have four different kinds, 2 of which Eric picked out of no where that we haven’t even tried yet. Guess that gives me a reason to pick up some cupcakes at their cupcake truck one day so we can try them. I’m so happy that we went the cupcake route with one tier for us to cut into! (:

Tomorrow is also an exciting day. I am trying on my first wedding dress ever. Talk about excitement/nervousness all rolled into one! I’ve been doing a lot of research about different dresses so that I’m not completely lost when I get there. So this is what I found:
Wedding dress silhouettes fall into these basic categories:
Ball Gown The most traditional of all categories, the ball gown is typified by a fitted bodice and waistline that lead to a very full skirt.
Empire The hallmark of the Empire-style gown is a high waistline (right under the bust), which falls to a slimmer skirt.
A-Line or Princess An A-line or Princess shape is cut close to the hip with a slight flare at the hem (creating an A-shape).
Sheath The slim sheath silhouette closely follows the lines of the body.
Mermaid A body-hugging silhouette that flares below the knee.
Trumpet A more understated style. The fit-and-flare trumpet skirt gradually flares at mid-thigh.
So what is best for the Petite shape?
Dress dos: The key word here is elongation. It’s best to keep it simple. A column-like sheath or an A-line dress works best: These will keep the eye moving and create the illusion of height.
Dress don’ts: Almost all silhouettes will flatter your figure, though a big ball gown or a dress with lots of voluminous fabric may look overwhelming on your small frame.
I think that is funny because as I was looking at dresses the last thing I want is an A-line dress. Whoops. I’m more excited to try on the Ball Gown, Mermaid and Trumpet dresses. I also think I want a sweetheart top or if I want sleeves I want them to be lace. Lets be honest though who knows what they heck I’m going to like when I try different dresses on!
Questions: What dresses do you like best? What kind did you wear on your wedding day? Any advice you can give to me as I try on dresses for the first time?

I like the cupcake idea! That gives everyone a variety of flavors to choose from. I personally like mermaid dresses the most, however who knows if I’ll think the same thing when I actually start planning a wedding
the mermaids are so adorable! I wish I would’ve liked how they fit on me!

I’m turning mine into a sweet heart dress! (:
I loved my jasmine dress from Alfred Angelo, they had a huge selection. And cupcakes rock!…we did a Rice Krispie cake
Rice Krispie cake? omg that is such a good idea!
I always wanted a mermaid dress but was told they are for petite girls. (Which sounds perfect for you!) I ended up with a ball gown and I can’t wait to wear it!!
I didn’t like any of the mermaid dresses on me I think the one I ended up picking is more A-line.. not really sure though!
Can i not talk about the dresses and talk about how bad I want a cupcake now?
haha the cupcakes are so good! (:
