Wedding Friday: Surprise Engagement Party

It’s another Wedding Friday! Don’t you just love these days? I sure do! (:
 
I made this cute little badge for it too! Isn’t it adorable? I don’t know how to make it more than just a picture so if you know let me know please! (: I got the idea after the HLS Session about Virtual Challenges.

Today I have something very special to share with you guys… Something that made me feel very blessed with my family and friends!

On Monday Eric and I were scheduled to go out to dinner with my aunt, uncle, and my mom. My mom told us that she would pick us up {which I thought was a little weird but I was just like “eh whatever”} When she was driving to dinner I noticed we were getting there like 10 minutes late. This wouldn’t have really bothered me if someone else was driving but my mom is ALWAYS 10 minutes early but once again I just shrugged it off. When we finally got to the restaurant, “The Deck“, we got out of the car and I looked for my aunt. She was waving at me so all eyes were on her while we were walking up to the entrance. Eric kept asking “where is she, where is she” and I was like “come on” haha. When we finally got a little closer I realized the bar they were sitting under {it was raining and the restaurant is only outside} was packed all that was crossing my mind was “where are we going to sit” haha. Next thing you know I take another look around the bar and guess who was there? Family and Friends. Haha It was a surprise engagement party for Eric and I and let me tell you I was surprised. It still hasn’t really hit me. Haha.

I couldn’t stop smiling and I just remember saying to Eric “wow this was really nice! I had no idea”. Apparently my aunt told Eric earlier in the day {wish he would’ve told me to dress a little nicer since it was raining and my day off I got ready around 2 pm and didn’t really feel like doing my hair… As you can see.} He contacted her asking if we could move the time up because he had a football draft to do. {which I also thought was weird that he was so willing to put it on auto draft just in case dinner ran over.} Like I said I was just in awe the whole time.
 
I have 3 wonderful people to thank for throwing the party. {my bridesmaids} Jamie couldn’t come last minute but Steph and Lynda did a great job!
   
They had a whole spread of food {wings, chicken fingers, wraps even cupcakes} and cute balloons.
 
I loved this I DO one! (: We also had a lot of fun taking pictures with it haha.

A very big thank you to everyone that came and especially to my girls for throwing the party! {I don’t have pictures of everyone since I didn’t take many} They did a great job and I couldn’t be happier! Eric and I both appreciate it.

I’m sure this won’t be the last dinner/party for our group! I definitely want to have dinners throughout the next year and a half for our families and wedding party. The best part of having a long engagement is we have longer to celebrate right?! Celebrate we will! (:
